Easy Shrimp with Pasta

This is my emergency meal when I am starving but really don’t want to get take out and just want something to hit the spot.
Linguine
Salt
1 lb shrimp
Extra virgin olive oil
Butter
Salt
Pepper
Chili pepper flakes
Paprika
Garlic powder or fresh garlic
2 tbls of butter
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1/4-1/2 cup Parmesan and more for later to top pasta with
1 large lemon, juiced and zested
1-2 handfuls of chopped parsley
So I normally start cooking shrimp and cream sauce when I add the pasta to the water so that it’s all ready at the same time.
Bring pot of water and salt to boil…add linguine and cook till it’s all dente and drain.
In the meantime heat a large skillet with oil and butter. Add shrimp, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder/garlic and chili pepper and cook flipping shrimp after 2 mins till no longer pink. Transfer cooked shrimp and it’s juices into another bowl. In the same skillet add butter and melt then add heavy scream and heat up and just when it’s about to boil add Parmesan cheese, chili pepper flakes, lemon juice and lemon zest and give it a good stir. Add pasta and mix with sauce. Then add shrimp and it’s juice and toss. Last add the parsley and toss.
I serve in bowls right away and top with Parmesan. I love my non Persian food spicy so I sprinkle a lot of chili pepper flakes so that my tongue is burning while I am eating. Don’t ask my why lol…it’s the same reason I drink my tea and coffee boiling hot 😂.
I love eating lots of veggies on the side, so I like to serve with sautéed broccoli or broccolini. Sometimes I will bake Brussel sprouts or sauté zucchini. My base for all of those veggies is salt, pepper and yup, you guessed it chili 🌶 pepper flakes 🙂
